RedCord – Neurac (a system of evaluation and neuromuscular re-education of normal movement)
RedCord is a unique system of lifting and suspension on which the innovative Neurac® method has been recently developed. The method is a totally effective theory of treatment and functional exercise. It relies on an exceptional combination of scientific and research knowledge, patented equipment and specialized clinical treatment by certified practitioners and it provides guaranteed results.
What is the Neurac© (Neuromuscular Activation) method?
The unique Neurac© treatment method is a complete system of evaluation and treatment of the musculoskeletal system. It is based on scientific studies about the neurophysiology of pain and the neurophysiology of the musculoskeletal system and has a proven impact on various musculoskeletal diseases. The innovation of the Neurac© treatment method consists in the fact that it re-educates the neuromuscular system; this means that it educates the muscles working in groups by treating them as means of executing a kinetic program found in the brain, whose execution requires both muscle power and coordination with the agonist and antagonist muscles of movement. For instance, during gait, the cooperation of the stabilizing muscles of the trunk is required. Failure to achieve it correctly because some muscles do not work normally will cause pain after some time of walking due to the effort of some other muscles to counterbalance this dysfunction/imbalance.
The first stage is the evaluation and recognition of the “weak links-muscles” of the chains of movement and includes the detection of inactive muscles and/or weakness in the stabilising muscles of the trunk, or finally the disrupted interaction between muscles.
By using the special exercises of the Neurac© treatment method we aim to improve the interaction between the brain, the movement receptors, and the muscles, resulting in the reeducation, reactivation and finally restoration of the normal function of inactive muscles and the restoration of function.
The Neurac© treatment has presented impressive results in many clinical cases ranging from patients suffering by chronic or acute pain to high-level athletes. Very often since the first treatment already, the reduction or even elimination of symptoms while normalizing function is achieved.
Which is the difference between the Neurac Therapeutic Exercise and other strengthening exercises?
The common strengthening exercises aim to exercise a specific muscle or group of muscles, by isolating it from the antagonist agonist stabilizing muscles. In contrast to the Neurac therapeutic exercise, the RedCord system allows us to aim at the neuromuscular coordination of muscles, the re-education of movement and the correct function of the stabilizing and agonist muscles. In addition, with this method, we can exercise small muscles of the spine which cannot be easily exercised with other methods.
Which diseases can the Neurac method be applied to?
- Low-back pain
- Cervical pain syndrome
- Shoulder pain (supraspinatus tendonitis, shoulder impingement syndrome, frozen shoulder etc.)
- Tennis elbow
- Hip problems
- Knee problems
- Gait and balance problems
